The satirical website Nonciclopedia has shut, for an indefinite period, in the wake of apparent legal difficulties relating to an alleged complaint by the Italian rock star Vasco Rossi.

The nature of the complaint isn’t clear, but the site is known for its satirical approach to the Wikipedia-style encyclopedia game. The site claims to have already removed the ‘offending’ page, and it’s not clear whether Rossi is still considering taking legal action against the site or the unknown editor who wrote the page’s content.

There are also unconfirmed reports that police also became interested in the site. But the decision by Nonciclopedia to close in this way has sparked huge amounts of comment online, as Italians and people around the world react to the story.

The sacred Desgalipedia has good relations with Nonciclopedia and in case of dire need, remembering that there is a mirror version of this site on our server is on its own initiative in the coming days, the attempt to invite users to this version. I ask everyone's opinion of the community.

Apparently, the situation appears to be resolved. However, because of the good relationship between Desgalipedia and Nonciclopedia users in the past it was my duty to offer some help. The italian wikipedia is also near to being closed, because the idiotic politicians in Italy made a stupid law that restrains freedom of speech in the Internet. See the explanation in English. Cthulhu.fhtagn (talk) 23:53, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
I heard that too, however, as our site is located in Canada believe that the will can move them. I have sent a request to one of the administrators and inform others about the offer. I was invited to respond to the proposal on the forum there. Rhubella selo-02.pngRhubella Marie, the rat sockpreppie 3,280 preppieditsRhubella selo-01.png 23:58, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
Cari lettori,

I understand from this that the spokesman for the rockstar withdrew the complaint. Personally I wouldn't remove the "offensive" article, because it's impossible to sue the whole community for this. Additionally, Wikia is juridically responsible for Nonciclopedia. I also wonder if Wikia really care. If the situation will be unbearable or Wikia decides to close down the site (wait a second... does Wikia close down sites???), they can always move independent :p CartoonistHenning (talk) 11:28, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
A law that constrains the freedom of speech, not recognizing the difference between hatehate and satire... something went totally nuts overthere. People without humour - they excist, but even shutting Wikipedia because everyone can do what they want?? Why freedom? Why peace? Why pax italia?? Then go live in a cage with water, bread and a stone or whatever. Shame on it. Roye7777777 ~ Talk 14:20, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
I think it's the best time to offer the advantages of independence. However, unfortunately some will be active for a few days because my sockboss has left the postal strike here in Brazil, since yesterday (Friday). Do not worry this is a holiday vacancy type of activity already included in the calendar of my country. Always occurs from September/October. What did you drink?

Nonciclopedia is online. --Helder Oliveira (talk) 20:57, 14 October 2011 (UTC)

We already quite knew that, though. Roye7777777 ~ Talk 21:53, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
The last time I drank something, it was Coca Cola. And when it's breakfast, I always drink milk | CartoonistHenning (talk) 17:55, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
It is a very lovely thing when you add to your salad a few slices of cucumber, tomatoes, small union rings, and of course lettuce and macaroni. Then, mix it by punching it, when you finally add at the top of it the dressing and a little bit of salt - not too much, just make a bowl of your hand and fill it completely with salt, then take two fingers and take the small top of it to drop that small bit over your salad - and any more by your own preferences.
