You know how on Wikimedia projects they have those little button icons at the bottoms of the wikis saying 'a wikimidia project'? We should totally do that too, link back here, bring folks together, yadda yadda etc I don't even know.
I made two buttons, though (and the term 'uncyclomedia' is way too long, for the record):
Any project could potentially use either, or different versions (say, in the proper languages, which is something, I might add, that the high and mighty Wikimedia are apparently above doing themselves). Un-en is using the not currently, although it might be funnier to put it the other way, now that I think about it. Make that one say that it is, and UnMeta say that it isn't... that could give the few folks who notice an interesting double-take, at least. ~ 00:52, 4 February 2012
Aaaand I just noticed these wikis are still using the old icons... although that's easier to change than what's there, just update the file in the skins/common/... not that adding new ones is difficult, either, fpr instance just add the imaage and put something like this to the settings file:
$wgFooterIcons['copyright']['uncyclomedia'] = array( "src" => "$wgStylePath/common/images/uncyclomedia_88x31.png.png", "url" => "http://meta.uncyclomedia.org/", "alt" => "An Uncyclomedia project", );
- Or something. ~ 00:57, 4 February 2012
- This was proposed earlier. See Forum:Seal_for_Uncyclomedia. I also like the idea, but each wiki should decide for its own or may custmise the button.
- But how can this be integrated in the #p-footer in Vector? 19:34, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
